Being part of the University of Toronto community means creating memories and celebrating milestones. Whether for an event, team, or initiative, applying a strong and consistent U of T brand to apparel and merchandise helps showcase your connection to the University.

This page explains who can use U of T trademarks and how to order approved apparel and merchandise.

Use of U of T Trademarks

Only authorized University of Toronto divisions and verified student groups may reproduce U of T trademarks on apparel or merchandise.

Trademarks may be used only for official University business. Any unauthorized use without the University’s express written consent is strictly prohibited and protected by law.

Work with Licensed Vendors

All U of T apparel and merchandise must be produced by an approved, licensed vendor.

Licensed vendors are selected by the Trademark Licensing team to:

  • Ensure compliance with the University of Toronto Code of Conduct
  • Maintain consistent brand standards
  • Support ethical and responsible production

Royalties

All royalties generated through the Trademark Licensing program support community and campus development initiatives administered through Ancillary Services.

The program is not intended to profit from non-commercial campus activities.
U of T divisions, authorized individuals, recognized student groups, and other recognized organizations are exempt from royalties when:

  • Insignia goods are not sold for profit, and
  • All University trademark guidelines are followed
student ambassadors presenting merchandise
